Details: This course is designed for childcare professionals who require a basic level of first aid/CPR training. It is specifically aimed to suit the needs of childcare workers and covers all basic paediatric first aid skills.Also a comprehensive and practical 4 hour course designed to train personnel in the operation of AED defibrillators and deal with heart attack, angina, respiratory emergencies ( choking) and strokes.This 1st Aid course is innovative and teaches participants how to provide emergency care for injured or ill casualties.
Participants learn about the types of medical emergencies that children face, and how they differ from adult conditions.The curriculum also includes the importance of attending to basic emergency situations with patients, the emotional aspects of caring for children, secondary care for children, and preventing common injuries and illnesses .
A Cardiac First Responder Community course is designed to give community members an understanding of Basic Life Support situations and their treatment. In just 4 hours, your community group can learn to use an AED (an automated external defibrillator), how to apply CPR for adults and infants and treat someone who is choking; as well as a host of basic first aid skills. Additionally, if you are specifically interested in learning how to respond to a cardiac emergency, the 4 hour courses are the perfect training option.
Whether you are a parent, a carer, a community group leader or a just someone who wants to know how to help, our training courses enable you with the skills to keep yourself, and those around you safe.
Objectives: This course is ideally, but not critically suited to staff members who need a basic understanding of First Aid in the work place.
Method: The course is interactive and is video/DVD driven with demonstration, and practical tasks and an assessment.
Attendees: Anyone involved in the provision of first aid either in an organisation, community or sports club.
Requirements: None.
Certification: On completion of the course and assessment, participants will receive a Certificate in Cardiac First Response which is valid for two years, plus a Basic First Aid certificate of Attendance.
