Basic First Aid (Including Defibrillation Training)
Details: A half day course designed to introduce participants to the principles and basics of First Aid. This course is designed to enable the learner to: Understand the responsibilities of the first aider. Provide treatment for the purpose of preserving life or minimising the consequences of injury until discharge or the arrival of medical assistance, Provide treatment for an injury which does not require the attention of medical personnel, the treatment of a patient with breathing difficulty and/or cardiac arrest and the operation of AED defibrillators for Adult, Child and Infants and deal with heart attack, angina and many other emergencies that may occur.
We have tailor made a comprehensive program to cover most of the relevant incidents that you may encounter. We ensure that participants are confident in coping with these emergencies. Confidence is everything when true emergencies are at hand.
Hopefully you will never need to use the lifesaving skills you learn with us, but after attending our class you will have the knowledge to tackle a medical emergency should it arise.
Whether you are a parent, a carer, a community group leader or a just someone who wants to know how to help, our training courses enable you with the skills to keep yourself, and those around you safe.
Objectives: This course is ideally, but not critically suited to staff members who need a basic understanding of First Aid in the work place.
Method: The course is interactive and is video/DVD driven with demonstration, and practical tasks and an assessment.
Attendees: Anyone involved in the provision of first aid either in an organisation, community or sports club. Parents, etc.
Requirements: None
Certification: On completion of the course and assessment, successful participants will receive a Certificate in Basic First Aid and/or Cardiac First Response Community, which is valid for two years.
